Spring Awakening Promo-Post

Hope your summers awesome, miss you all a lot ! But I want to take a moment to remind you that Spring Awakening is in town, meaning in Chicago!

Spring Awakening, for those that don't know, is a new musical based on Frank Wedekind's 19th century play, Spring Awakening, that explores the journey from childhood to adulthood set in 19th century Germany. The musical is filled with power, passion, and oh so much teenage angst.

With a ROCKIN score by Duncan Sheik and directed by Michael Mayer (directing an upcoming rock musical with the music of Green Day's American Idiot), this musical is seriously unlike anything you've seen before. Not even like Rent. When it opened on Broadway in 2007, it won a total of 11 Tony-Awards, including Best Musical, Best Director, Best Original Score, and Best Featured Actor. This is a MUST-SEE this summer!

2. Visit any Broadway in Chicago theatres' box offices, hours are usually 10AM-6 PM...(Ford Center Oriental Theatre is at 24 W Randolph, next Borders on State St.)

3. Call Broadway in Chicago's new ticket hotline at 800-775-2000.

4. Get $25 Student Rush tickets the day of performance 2 hrs prior to the performance! Visit the box office just 2 hrs before the show with your student ID and $25 cash for this awesome deal!

Also, please check this for a Parental Advisory, as the show does include some mature themes, sexual situations, and partial nudity.

Spring Awakening is only going to be here from August 4-16th. I really hope you don't miss this awesome show.

This stop on the 1st National tour is also a very sad one, as it will be the last stop for many of the cast members who have been with the tour since its start. Don't miss the chance to see this insanely talented cast before they leave for school (like some of you)!
